Dhurandhar 2 Advance Booking Crosses 6 Lakh Tickets, Ranveer Singh Film Near Baahubali 2 Record
Dhurandhar 2 advance booking crosses 6 lakh tickets, putting Ranveer Singh’s sequel close to Baahubali 2’s historic record
Bollywood’s upcoming action sequel Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, is creating huge buzz even before its theatrical release. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19.
According to early box office reports, the film has already sold nearly six lakh tickets across major multiplex chains through advance bookings and paid preview shows. These numbers place it among the biggest pre-release performers in Hindi cinema history.
Advance Booking Numbers Create Buzz
Advance ticket sales for Dhurandhar 2 have been extremely strong across national multiplex chains. Industry tracker Sacnilk reports that the film has crossed close to six lakh tickets in pre-sales for its opening day and preview screenings.
Such figures are usually associated with the biggest blockbuster releases in India.
Fastest Bollywood Sequel Release
One notable aspect of the film is the speed at which the sequel has arrived. The original film Dhurandhar released on December 5, 2025.
With the sequel arriving just over 100 days later, Dhurandhar 2 has become one of the fastest follow-up releases for a major Bollywood franchise.

Akshaye Khanna’s Character Returns
The first film featured Akshaye Khanna as the powerful character Rehman Dakait. The character gained strong popularity with audiences, which helped build anticipation for the sequel.
The continuation of the storyline has contributed to the strong demand for tickets.
Massive Response at PVR INOX
One of the biggest contributors to the advance booking numbers has been PVR INOX.
Reports suggest that the film has already crossed 1.5 lakh ticket sales at the chain alone, setting a new record for premiere-day advance booking for a Bollywood film at the multiplex network.
Comparison With Baahubali 2
The current booking pace places Dhurandhar 2 in the same league as Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which remains one of the biggest box office successes in Indian cinema.
The Hindi version of Baahubali 2 sold around 6.5 lakh tickets in advance bookings during its release.
Other Big Films in Advance Booking Race
Several blockbuster films have recorded huge advance bookings in the past. Among them are Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan and Pathaan.
Another major competitor was KGF: Chapter 2, which also recorded massive pre-release ticket sales.
Animal Also Among Top Pre-Sale Performers
More recently, Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, sold around 4.60 lakh tickets in advance bookings.
With one day still remaining before its release, Dhurandhar 2 is expected to surpass several of these benchmarks.
Demand Strong in Major Cities
Advance booking demand is particularly strong in large metropolitan areas such as Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
Premium ticket categories and late-night shows are reportedly selling out quickly.
Paid Previews Boost Booking Numbers
There is one key difference between the advance booking figures of Dhurandhar 2 and earlier blockbuster films.
When Baahubali 2 released in 2017, paid preview shows were not common practice. The new sequel combines paid previews with opening-day bookings, which increases the total ticket count before release.
Box Office Expectations Sky High
Even with this structural difference, the scale of excitement around the film is undeniable. If the advance booking momentum translates into opening-day collections, Dhurandhar 2 could deliver one of the biggest box office openings in recent Bollywood history.
Industry observers believe the film could set a new benchmark for advance ticket sales in Hindi cinema.
